Ian Butcher was a 1st class cricketer during the eighties, playing for Leicestershire and Gloucestershire. He is part of the Butcher cricketing dynasty that includes brother Alan, Surrey, Glamorgan, & England and former coach to Zimbabwe. Nephews Mark, Surrey & England and Gary,Surrey and Glamorgan.

Ian spent 15 years coaching with the Northamptonshire Academy and Emerging Players squads, as well as their Junior County set up. During this time he also gained an ECB level 3 coaching qualification.

More recently, having moved into the London area, he was appointed Head of Cricket at the Harrodian school in Barnes, along with "Club Coach"positions at both Barnes and Richmond CC. He has also set up his own private coaching company, Butch 4 cricket, where he specialises in 1:1 and small group sessions.

Ian is passionate about developing young talent and has recently teamed up with Run-Maker.com. Run maker, a company dedicated to providing quality and affordable 1:1 and small group coaching for U21 year old's in the London/Surrey area. Ian is the lead coach in this new organisation and is looking forward to developing it even further, for the benefit of youth cricket in the area.

Cricket has been a major part of Ian's life, and has built up a huge stockpile of memories and anecdotes ready to be shared over a beer as an 'After Dinner' speaker. Ian has recounted many of these stories at various cricket club dinners and would welcome the opportunity to speak at yours.
